A Wexford County man who fled the state after being charged with fraud has been captured in the Flint area.
Randy Lee Brooks Sr. fled his sentencing last April to avoid several fraud charges in Wexford County. Brooks was being charged with running a criminal enterprise from his family's used car dealership.
State Police say Brooks' Sr. fled the state and later returned to the Flint area using an alias name.
Investigators say Randy Brooks Sr., Randy Brooks Jr., and Christine Brooks sold vehicles without paying off bank loans on them. They also sold vehicles with fraudulent paperwork, among other crimes.
The dealership, Direct Auto and Truck, was shut down in 2011 after being on probation for record keeping, title and registration application violations.
Brooks' original charge, conducting a criminal enterprise is a 20-year felony. He now also faces Felony-Fleeing/Absconding to avoid prosecution.
