      Funeral arrangements for 17-year-old made at Glen Lake football field

      The 16-year-old sped right through the stop sign hitting Brian R. Nachazel of Cedar at 12:42 a.m. at the intersection of Bodus Rd and Schomberg Rd.

      Drake John Hendershot, 17, was in critical condition after being in a car crash last weekend in Leelanau County but passed away on Friday.

      Drake, of Empire, died on Aug. 29 at Munson Medical Center. Those close to Drake say that he is one of the hardest working people that they have known.

      Drake's funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday Sept. 2 at the Glen Lake football field. For more information on the funeral or to send flowers visit Drakes Tribute Wall.

      According to the Leelanau County Sheriff's Office, a 16-year-old was driving, Drake was the front seat passenger, and another 16-year-old was in the backseat.

      The 16-year-old sped right through the stop sign hitting Brian R. Nachazel of Cedar at 12:42 a.m. at the intersection of Bodus Rd and Schomberg Rd.

      Nachazel's truck rolled over and he was ejected out the driver's side window. Nachazel died at the scene.
