Winter Weather Advisory for many counties this weekend

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for much of northern Michigan. Luce, Cheboygan, Emmet, Charlevoix, Otsego, Antrim, Kalkaska, Grand Traverse, Leelanau, Benzie, Wexford, Missaukee, Manistee, Mason, Lake, Osceola, Oceana, Newaygo, Muskegon, Mecosta Counties are in the advisory from midday Saturday thru Sunday AM. Roads will be covered with new snow, and while the snow falls visibility will be an issue.

Saturday look for snow, but not just in the lake effect zones. It will spread across the entire region. Heaviest snow will be west of I-75. Highs 12 to 18 in the U.P...and 18 to 32 in the Lower. Wind from the south 5-15 mph. When the snow begins to spread all across the Great Lakes region midday...it will be with us thru Sunday AM. Two day totals will be 2 to 12 inches...again, the higher totals will be west of I-75, but we all will face slow travel conditions. And it's not just in Michigan. Look for snow to sweep across the nation's midsection.

Saturday night lows...5 below to 15 above. Wind from the southwest 10-20 mph.

Sunday will be colder than Saturday. Highs from 8 to 20. Snow showers...but most of the day's snow will fall in the AM. Not much sunshine, but you could see a break in the clouds. Wind 15 to 25 mph.
