Gilde will go to trial in Missaukee County baby death
Cole Gilde, the man facing charges in the 2012 death of one-year-old Payton Disbrow, will face two charges when his case moves on to Circuit Court.
Gilde, 20, of Osceola County, is charged with two counts of second-degree murder. The first charge involves doing bodily harm to the child, while the second is tied to interfering with getting the child medical help.
Brittani Grabon, the mother of the child, plead guilty last month to second-degree murder and will testify against Gilde, her former boyfriend.
Deputies were called to Cadillac Mercy Hospital in December of 2012 on calls of a dead infant.
Deputies said when the child's body arrived at the hospital it was badly beaten, bruised and severely neglected.
