Grand Traverse County Sheriffâ??s office holds rifle training
Members of the Grand Traverse County Sheriffâ??s Office were shooting Wednesday, during a ten hour training day.
The certified officers from the sheriffâ??s department were training and qualifying with their patrol rifles.
They are required to complete one qualification course every year for this firearm.
Captain Clark explained why training with the patrol rifles is so important.
"This is just another firearm that allows them to, if their posed in a deadly forced situation, to deal with that situation safely," says Captain Christopher Clark of the Grand Traverse County Sheriff.
Pugsley Correctional Facility has teamed with the Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office and allowed them to use their gun range for about 6 years.
