The Grand Traverse County Road Commission has announced two new road projects.
Beginning Monday, the road commission will be starting lane closures on South Airport Rd. that will last three weeks.
In the first week, crews will be working during daylight hours on South Airport from Veterans Drive to just west of the railroad tracks by the Goodwill store. The second week, lane closures will take place during the night hours as well.
Also starting Monday is work on US-31. Crews will be working on milling and overlaying road surfaces for three days from 3 Mile Road to 5 Mile road.
Due to the deep frost from this past winter, several other projects will be taking place on Riley, Hawley, Angell, Rasho, High Lake, North Hannah, Gleaner Hall, Hodge, and County Line road. The emergency road repairs on these roads consist of culvert replacements and restoration of subgrades.
Drivers are encouraged to take other routes or be prepared for delays.
These projects will be funded both by federal funds and road millage funds.
The road commission has thanked the voters of Grand Traverse County for passing a road millage to finance these projects.
