Habitual drunk driver leads police on multi-county chase

A 46 year old South Boardman man is facing multiple charges after leading police on a chase through Osceola and Mecosta counties Sunday night.

Troopers from the Mount Pleasant post were alerted to a reckless driver after multiple 911 calls at approximately 7:42 pm.

When troopers caught up to the suspects vehicle they say the suspect took off nearly hitting several other cars and nearly crashing several times.

The driver finally pulled over on US 131 near 22 mile road in Mecosta County's Green Township.

Officers say they the suspect was arrested and placed in the Mecosta County Jail on charges of fleeing and eluding Third degree, operating while intoxicated, Driving on a suspended license, transporting open intoxicants, and violating the conditions of parole.

The driver has multiple alcohol-related offenses.
