Harbor Springs school employee accused of inappropriate relationship with student
An employee of Harbor Springs Public Schools is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a high school student.
Scott Richard Lepird, 43, of Alanson, was arrested on Friday and charged with three counts of third degree criminal sexual conduct.
According to the Emmet County Sheriff, the investigation alleges Lepird had an inappropriate relationship with a female student at the high school from August of 2013 until January of 2014.
According to the Harbor Springs Public Schools online directory, Lepird is the Director of Maintenance. The Superintendent of HSPS also confirms Lepird was the Varsity baseball coach. He started with the district in August of 2011 and resigned two weeks ago.
He was released from jail on a $7,500 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned on February 12.
