Test results show dangerous levels of
at Sherman Park in Sault Ste. Marie and Brimley State Park in Superior Township.
As a result of the beach closures, as a safety precaution, the Chippewa County Health Department has also posted a no body contact advisory for areas within Waiska Bay and Back Bay in Superior and Bay Mills Townships.
People should avoid body contact with surface waters in these areas.
Monitoring efforts continue on a daily basis by the Environmental Health staff. The Chippewa County Health Department will notify the public when the beaches are reopened.
