CHARLEVOIX COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A valuable steel sculpture has been stolen from a northern Michigan library.

The 9-foot Hemingway Sculpture was stolen over the weekend from the Beaver Island District Library.

It's a key piece of The Hemingway Sculpture Project created by renowned artist and arts educator John Sauve.

The installation was the first in northern Michigan.

It was placed outside the Beaver Island Library in 2016.

Library officials are working with police and one resident has offered a cash reward for its safe return.

If you have any information or see this sculpture, please call Charlevoix County Police.
