Heroes Among Us: No heartbeat in the hallway
GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich. , (WBPN/WGTU) --
Registered nurse Amanda Deering is used to saving lives in the emergency room. She isn't used to trying to do it in a hallway at the hospital but that's where, when she was walking into work at Munson Medical Center, she found a man crumpled on the floor. Amanda explains "he was pale, he didn't appear to be breathing when I got down next to him I could assess there was no rise of fall of chest, and there was no pulse. I realized he was truly in cardiac arrest."
Without hesitation, Amanda got to work to bring the hospital's visitor back from the dead, but she didn't have to do it alone. Help came from around the corner.
