A heroin investigation in the Upper Peninsula lead to the arrest of a Sault Ste Marie resident, and the discovery of drugs, money, and a vehicle at two homes in Chippewa County.
On Friday, the Straits Area Narcotics Enforcement team (S.A.N.E.) conducted search warrants at a home in Sault Ste Marie and an apartment in Soo Township. S.A.N.E Officers seized heroin, marijuana, U.S. currency, and a vehicle along with other evidence.
The investigation involved heroin being distributed in the eastern end of the Upper Peninsula. S.A.N.E. officials say that one of the suspects was traveling down to southern Michigan to pick up the heroin to be transported north, where it would be sold.
Daniel Pedinelli, 26, Sault Ste. Marie, was arrested and held at the Chippewa County Jail for 2-counts conspiracy to deliver heroin, 1-count delivery of heroin and 1-count maintaining a drug house.
