Honor man found dead in woods after ORV crash in Benzie County
BENZIE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A 49-year-old Honor man is dead after an off-road vehicle crash in Benzie County.
Troopers from the Cadillac Michigan State Police Post said the crash happened on Oviatt Road near Blohm Road in the early morning hours of Saturday.
Investigators said the the 49-year-old man left his residence on the ORV around 1 a.m. and never returned.
The victim's family said they were unaware he was missing until the morning.
The man was located deceased by the family in the woods near a venue above around 10 a.m.
According to investigators the man lost control of the ORV, hit a mailbox and a stack of wood piled near the roadway.
The man was separated from the ORV and his helmet, said investigators.
Investigators believe alcohol and speed are contributing factors in the crash.
