      Horse Shows by the Bay brings positive economic impact

      Horse Shows by the Bay celebrates its eleventh anniversary with a month-long event bringing riders from all over North America.

      Horse Shows by the Bay celebrates its eleventh anniversary with a month-long event bringing riders from all over North America.

      Thousands of the nation's best horses and riders will be competing in equestrian sports from show jumping to show hunting.

      During this month-long event, $600,000 of prize money will also be awarded.

      Horse Shows by the Bay also brings a great economic impact on Grand Traverse County.

      "The event brings in approximately 1,500 riders here for the month, 1,500 horses, and it brings into the community 15 million dollars every year," says owner and manager of Horse Shows by the Bay, Alex Rheinheimer.

      Horse Shows by the Bay is located at Flintfields Horse Park in Williamsburg. Competitions will be held Wednesday through Sunday until July 27.
