Howard City man arrested after hit and run in Montcalm County
A 27-year-old Howard City man was arrested after a hit and run crash in Howard City Tuesday evening.
Deputies say the crash happened on Tuesday around 7 p.m. on Walnut St. near Cedar St. in Howard City.
Authorities say a 2007 Ford Ranger was driving east on Walnut St. and preparing to turn when it was hit from behind by a 1999 Ford Explorer, which then fled the scene.
A 20-year-old Jenison woman who was in the Ford Ranger was treated for injuries to her head and neck. A 27-year-old Kentwood woman, 23-year-old Jenison man and a 1-year-old child were not injured in the crash. All occupants were wearing seatbelts.
A witness to the crash followed the car and alerted deputies to its location.
The 27-year-old Howard City man was arrested for leaving the scene of a crash and driving with a suspended license.
Deputies say alcohol was not a factor in the crash. It still remains under investigation.
