Hundreds without power in Traverse City area

UPDATED: Power has been restored to all of Old Mission Peninsula. Hundreds of people are still without power in Garfield Twp.
Hundreds of people are without power on one of the hottest days of the year in Grand Traverse County.
Power went out shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, with outages first being noticed on Old Mission Peninsula.
Outages now extend the length of the peninsula and areas up Barlow and Woodmere Avenue. Additionally, customers along Airport Road and past the Grand Traverse Mall are facing outages as well.
Consumer's Energy has not yet confirmed a cause for the outage or a time-frame for restoration.
Grand Traverse Sheriff's Officials say traffic lights along South Airport are out. Additionally, the Cass Road Bridge is closed due to a line down. Officials are asking that drivers avoid the area if possible.
Details into the outage are limited but the story will be updated as they emerge.
