A 27-year-old female was allegedly hit and choked by her 26-year-old male spouse in Blair Township on Sunday.
According to the Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office, the Blair Township Community Police Officer was called to investigate a domestic assault at a home around 11 p.m.
The man left the home to go to a relative's house where he was later located by a deputy.
The deputy arrested the man for domestic assault. He is behind bars in the Grand Traverse County Jail.
The Prosecutor's Office is requesting charges for domestic assault as well as strangulation.
The woman was not hospitalized for any injuries.
