Although the bitterly cold temperatures of winter are behind us, the ice is still causing problems for Great Lakes shipping.
There are currently 47 ships waiting to get through the Soo Locks right now and some haven't even left their port.
The Chief of Lock Operations says that's the highest number he has seen in his ten years at the locks.
Nine ice breakers are currently working to escort ships through waterways near the locks.
Ships are expected to be delayed for the next week.
