Indian River man pleads guilty to 4th drunk driving charge

A 57-year-old Indian River man pled guilty to Operating while Intoxicated in the 53rd Circuit Court in Cheboygan County today.

James Boutilier was stopped by police after his car crossed the centerline on M-68 several times and then turned and traveled in the wrong lane of traffic. At the traffic stop, he smelled of alcohol, failed his field sobreity tests and his blood alcohol level was over three times the legal limit.

The Cheboygan County Prosecuting Attorney says Boutilier was verbally aggressive with the arresting officers.

He was arrested for felony drunk driving because he had 3 prior OWI convictions.

The Prosecutor says Boutiliers driving privledges had been suspended after his third OWI conviction in 2007, but were restored just 15 months prior to this arrest.
