A group of Chinese students from Weiming Education Group are visiting Northwestern Michigan college on Wednesday to get a taste of college life and tour the Traverse City area.

The 11, 12, and 13-year-old Chinese students are visiting NMC to experience NMC's College for Kids classes as well as dorm life.

Another five Weiming groups are visiting Kent County Public Schools, Calvin College, Oxford Community Schools, Camp Storer, as well as Adrian College.

Students visiting with the Weiming Education Group range from four Chinese regions, Shenzen, Chongqing, Guiyang, as well as Chengdu.

Included in their visit, the students will experience Traverse City first-hand by attending a Beach Bums game, sailing to the Tall Ship of Manitou, getting ice cream from Moomer's Homemade Ice Cream, and much more.

Their trip is from July 18 through the 29th.
