Kentucky man denied bond after molesting two Mecosta Co. girls

A 23-year-old Kentucky man is being denied bond after he was charged with molesting two young girls in Mecosta County.

Daniel Rueckert was arrested Monday after a Big Rapids woman told police that the man molested an 8-year-old and 10-year-old girl. He is being charged with 6 counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct. He is also being charged with trying to steal a vehicle.

Detectives say he was in Big Rapids visiting his girlfriend when he met another woman at a party store. He went home with this woman, where detectives say he was seen by two other adults coming out of the young girls' room. After being seen, detectives say he ran outside where he tried to steal a truck but was stopped. He then fled on foot.

Rueckert was arrested at a home in Big Rapids on Monday after a search warrant was issued.

The investigation into this case is ongoing.
