'Knife-wielding' teen taken into custody after holding mother captive
A 14-year-old boy was taken into custody after holding his mother captive at a home in Sheridan Monday afternoon.
Montcalm County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of what they called a "knife-wielding 14-year-old" who was holding his mother captive at a home on East Evergreen St. in Sheridan.
When they arrived, deputies found out that the mother, father and two younger siblings were able to get out of the home.
The teen was taken into custody without incident.
No injuries were reported.
The teen is being held in a juvenile holding facility in Evart pending a hearing in Juvenile Court.
