Lauren Duski of 'The Voice' comes to Michigan to perform 3 shows
MICHIGAN (WPBN/WGTU)-- 'The Voice' runner up and Gaylord native, Lauren Duski, is returning to Michigan for three shows.
Duski will perform shows at the following locations:
Sept. 7: Saginaw at the Temple Theatre at 7 p.m.
Sept. 9: Grand Rapids at the Stache in The Intersection, doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Duski came in second place on season 12 of 'The Voice'.
During the final live performance round Monday night, Duski performed three songs including a duet with her coach Blake Shelton. Within one hour of her performances, Duski made it in the top 10 on the iTunes charts.
Born in Limestone, ME, Duski grew up in Gaylord, graduated from the University of Michigan and now lives in Nashville, TN.
Duski's parents, Edward and Janis Duski, are both dentists in Gaylord at Duski Dentistry, PLC.
At a young age, Duski entered many karaoke competitions, leading to many years of touring Michigan and performing classic country hits with the band JR Country Band. The band opened for Lonestar, Randy Travis and Bill Anderson. From age 12 through college, she gave up on music to focus on becoming a dentist. She met independent filmmaking couple Ann Gillis and husband Marvin, and they encouraged her to move to Nashville, taking Lauren under their wing. After Ann was diagnosed with ALS, Lauren felt the need to give back to her by becoming her full-time caretaker.
