Thousands of people spent Saturday in Leland enjoying the great tastes northern Michigan has to offer.
The finest wine makers and restaurants in Leelanau county showed off their best delights at the 29th annual Leland Wine and Food Festival.
Event goers had a chance to sample 16 Leelanau and Old Mission Peninsula wineries, along with tasty treats to satisfy cravings from 11 Leelanau food vendors.
The event is one of the oldest wine festival in Michigan, and winery owners said that is what makes the event so great.
??It is really exciting to be here at the Leelanau Wine and Food Festival because our winery is just down the road,?? said Taylor Simpson of Good Harbor Vineyards. ??To see the growth of the wine festival in the last 29 years both in the number of wineries, the number of restaurants, and the attendees is just amazing.??
The event continues to grow each year, last year it had around 3,000 people, and they were expecting nearly 1,000 more to attend this year.
