LeRoy man killed in fast-moving house fire
Eugene Donovan, 73, is dead following a fire described by officials as fast-moving due to windy conditions.
Crews were called to the home at 19627 LeRoy Road around 4:30 p.m Tuesday.
The two-story home was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived.
Beverly Donovan, 72, was also inside the home but able to escape. Fire officials said Eugene, who used a walker to get around, was most likely overcome by heavy smoke and became trapped by the flames.
A fire investigation team and Michigan State Police Arson K-9 responded to the scene. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
