LISTEN: 911 call from Lake Michigan rescue released


A northern Michigan woman was stranded in the open water of Lake Michigan over the weekend after her sailboat overturned.

It happened two about two miles off Pyramid Point Saturday evening.

All she had was a life jacket, her small dog and her cell phone.

She called 911, who dispatched first responders toward her. They found her, and brought her to safety.

Now, her 911 calls have been released. You can hear the woman on the phone with the dispatcher, as she sees her rescuers for the first time.
