Little Traverse Bay Humane Society re-opening after treating puppies
EMMET COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A northern Michigan humane society is re-opening after being closed for nearly two months.
The Little Traverse Bay Humane Society closed after a group of puppies tested positive for the Canine Distemper Virus.
The shelter received the group of 70 puppies from Texas after Hurricane Harvey.
The LTBHS posted on their Facebook page they will be re-opening on Thursday, March 1.
During the closure, the shelter reached out to all families who adopted animals on this transport to ensure they received a thorough medical exam and testing done by a Little Traverse Bay Veterinary Clinic veterinarian at their expense.
If you would like to visit or adopt an animal, the shelter's normal business hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
