Local collects supplies for Puerto Rico hurricane relief
GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich. WPBN/WGTU) -- A Traverse City woman is collecting some much needed supplies for people in Puerto Rico.
Mariam Pico is a Puerto Rico native who still has several family members that live in Puerto Rico.
So far, she has filled four tubs with supplies and collected more than $400.
Pico decided to start this collection after speaking to her family, who still lives in Puerto Rico and learning about the hurricane devastation.
Now she is collecting necessary supplies and money to help those people effected by hurricane Maria.
Pico is also asking for money donations to pay for the postage to send the supplies.
All donations will be sent to Puerto Rico on Tuesday.
Supplies being collected: Size D batteries, disposable diapers, baby wipes, baby formula, baby food, hand sanitizer and first aid supplies.

- Monday 2p.m. to 9p.m.
Evola Music (976 W South Airport Rd, Traverse City, MI)
- Saturday 10a.m. to 5p.m.
- Monday 10a.m. to 6p.m.
