'Major announcement' expected Friday in Baby Kate case
Attorney General Bill Schuette is expected to make a "major announcement" in the Baby Kate case out of Mason County on Friday.
Four-month-old Katherine "Baby Kate" Phillips disappeared on June 29, 2011 while in the case of her father, Sean. Her remains have never been found.
Sean Phillips was convicted of unlawful imprisonment and is currently serving a 10-year-prison sentence.
After he was sentenced, he was declared a suspect in Baby Kate's murder.
Schuette, Mason County Prosecutor Paul Spaniola and law enforcement will make the announcement at the Ludington City Council chambers. It is scheduled for 12:30 a.m. on Friday.
