Man accused of embezzling from Munson pleads not guilty
The man accused of embezzling thousands of dollars from Munson Medical Center has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Jeffrey Ales appeared in Grand Traverse County District Court Monday morning where he waived his preliminary exam and entered a not guilty plea.
Ales was contracted through the hospital as a food service manager.
A hospital spokesperson said Ales used hospital funds to buy gift cards, gasoline and other personal items totally more than $27,000.
He's charged with embezzling from a non-profit, which is a ten-year felony.
Ales is scheduled to appear in Grand Traverse County Circuit Court on May 16. At this time, he remains out on bond.
