Man accused of soliciting girls online sentenced

Guy Raymond pleaded guilty to using a computer to commit a crime, accosting children for immoral purpose and habitual offender second offense and was was sentenced on April 13 to 44 months to 10.5 years for using a computer to commit a crime and sentenced to 28 months to 6 years for accosting children for immoral purpose.

GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A Traverse City man accused of using a computer to solicit young girls has been sentenced.

On March 8, Guy Raymond pleaded guilty to using a computer to commit a crime, accosting children for immoral purpose and habitual offender second offense.

In November, Michigan State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) Detectives received a tip that Raymond was reaching out to underage girls, asking for pictures and for them to engage in sexual activity with him.

Raymond was sentenced on April 13 to 44 months to 10.5 years for using a computer to commit a crime.

Raymond was also sentenced to 28 months to 6 years for accosting children for immoral purpose.

The sentences are to be served consecutively.

According to the Michigan Department of Corrections website, Raymond's earliest release date is October 27, 2023 and his latest release date is May 27, 2034.
