Man arrested for sexual assault on Traverse City beach

Traverse City Police arrested a man who they believe was responsible for a sexual assault on the Volleyball Court Beach on West Bay yesterday.

According to police, the female victim was lying on the beach when the suspect , Noah Randall, approached her from behind, asking her if she would like a "massage". When the woman declined the offer, Randall reached down and grabbed her. He then left the area on a bicycle. Randall was spotted near the Farmer's Market parking lot and tried to evade police, but was caught in an alley near the State Theatre.

Randall was lodged in the Grand Traverse County Jail for criminal sexual conduct.

He has an extensive criminal history including convictions for assault, possession of controlled substance and malicious destruction of property.
