Man charged in 2017 overdose death
GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A man is facing felony charges in connection with an overdose death of a Grand Traverse County man.
Rory O'Brien is accused of selling heroin mixed with fentanyl which prosecutors say led to the Oct. 13, 2017, death of Alexander Grizzel.
O'Brien was charged with delivery of a controlled substance causing death, a felony that carries up to life in prison if convicted.
The case is being investigated by the Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Department and the Traverse Narcotics Team.
Grizzel was a former member of the hockey team at Traverse City West.
An alumni charity hockey game is scheduled for Saturday, February 10 to honor Grizzel.
