Man charged in fiery crash

The driver of the car was charged for leaving the scene and driving with a suspended license.

A 32-year-old man is facing charges after losing control of his car and hitting a travel trailer.

According to the Cadillac Police Department, Guadalupe Dyer Gracia, of Cadillac, lost control of his car at the intersection of Ayer St. and Sundberg St. The car went into someone's yard, hit a travel trailer and caught fire.

No one was injured. The Cadillac Fire Department extinguished the flames in minutes.

The driver and a 15-year-old girl were helped out of the car by a neighbor, and ran from the scene. They were caught a short while later. Another passenger, a 17-year-old male, stayed on the scene.

The driver was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and driving with a suspended license for the second time. The 15-year-old passenger, a runaway, was turned over to juvenile authorities.

Garcia posted a $700 interim bond. He is scheduled to appear for arraignment on Monday July 14 in the 84th District Court.
