Man convicted of arson, threatening witnesses to serve 3-5 years
The man convicted of setting fire to a truck in Boyne City and then threatening the witnesses was sentenced to 40-60 months in prison.
Robert Cronk, 25, of East Jordan, was convicted for fourth degree arson, malicious destruction of property, three counts of witness intimidation and furnishing alcohol to a minor.
Testimony in trial shows Cronk set fire to a truck in Boyne City which then spread to another car. After the fire, he threatened to hurt three teenage witnesses if they told police.
Cronk was sentenced to 40-60 months on both the arson and malicious destruction of property, 32-48 months on each of the witness intimidation charges, and 60 months on the furnishing alcohol to a minor charge. The sentences run concurrently, however.
