A 68-year-old man driving the wrong way on I-75 was arrested on Sunday for operating while intoxicated.

The Michigan State Police, West Branch Post, responded to several calls reporting a vehicle traveling southbound in a northbound lane.

The vehicle was near mile maker 216 in Ogemaw Twp. when deputies attempted to stop the driver. The patrol car was then struck by another vehicle that was traveling northbound.

The wrong way driver avoided the collision and continued driving down the wrong way.

Shortly after, the Michigan State Police Troopers were able to stop the driver and arrested him for an OWI.

Two Ogemaw County Sheriff's Deputies are being treated for minor injuries at the West Branch Regional Medical Center.

A 22-year-old Gaylord woman, the driver of the second vehicle, and the 27-year-old passenger in the vehicle, are also being treated for minor injuries.

The wrong way driver is in the Ogemaw County jail.

The incident is still under investigation.
