A 59-year old Big Rapids man was found lying face down in the Muskegon River around around 12:30 Thursday morning.
Officials with the City of Big Rapids Department of Public Safety say that they found the man in the water in Osceola Park in Big Rapids about 10 to 15 ft from the embankment.
One officer had to swim out to the man and pull him back to shore. Police tell 7&4 News the man was unresponsive, cold to the touch and not breathing. Police say he was then taken to Spectrum Health Big Rapids where a pulse was restored. He was later flown to a hospital in Grand Rapids, but his condition is not known.
