      Man leads police on high speed chase

      A traffic stop in Wexford County took Michigan State Troopers on a high speed chase.

      A traffic stop in Wexford County took Michigan State Troopers on a high speed chase.

      It started Friday evening on US-131 in Clam Lake Township.

      That's when the driver, a 22 year old man from Grand Rapids, left US-131 and went eastbound on M-55.

      Police tell 7&4 News the driver reached speeds over 100 miles per hour.

      The suspect hit one patrol car before being pushed off the road into a ditch.

      He then started to drive westbound on M-55.

      The driver was arrested after officers used a P.I.T. maneuver.

      The suspect was taken to the Wexford County jail for fleeing and eluding resulting in a collision, driving with a suspended license and possession with intent to deliver cocaine.
