Man reported missing for 15 hours returns to campsite unharmed
A man who was reported missing while rafting on the Muskegon River is safe after he went missing for nearly 15 hours.
Clare County Central Dispatch received a 911 call at midnight on Sunday of a missing man last seen floating on a raft on the river.
25-year-old Franklin Hayslip from Stanton, Michigan was on a raft with friends when he went ahead from the rest of his group.
Before calling central dispatch the group looked for Hayslip for several hours with no success.
At 7 a.m. Sunday while law enforcement was looking for Hayslip he walked up to where he and his friends were camping.
He was not injured and had used his raft for shelter during a rain storm.
The Clare County Sheriff wants to remind everyone to stay together while on the river and pack items that could help you if you get lost.
