Man robs bank and gets away on foot

Montcalm Sheriff's Deputies tell 7&4 News that the robbery happened just before 11:00am Saturday morning at the Chemical Bank in downtown Edmore.


Authorities in Montcalm County are asking for your help tracking down a suspect who robbed a local bank.


Montcalm Sheriff's Deputies tell 7&4 News that happened just before 11:00am Saturday morning at the Chemical Bank in downtown Edmore.


They say a man entered the bank and gave a note to the teller, demanding money. The suspect implied that he had a weapon however no weapon was actually seen. The man left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money and took off on foot.


The suspect is described as a white man and looks to be 30 to 40 years old. He's about 5'6'' to 5' 7'' tall and weighs about 160-175 pounds.


He has short dark hair, a gray goatee and was wearing a dark jacket and dark sunglasses.


If you have any information the suspect's identity you're asked to contact the Montcalm Sheriff's Office at (989) 831-5253. As of Monday afternoon, the Sheriff's Office says they have received about a dozen tips as to the identity of the man. They are currently pursuing those tips. No arrests have been made.
