Man sentenced for 'ghost tows' in Oceana County
Paul Rosse, the man who turned himself in for setting up several 'ghost tows' in Hart, was sentenced to 30 weekend days in the Oceana County Jail on Tuesday.
Rosse will also have to pay more than $22,000 in fines.
According to the Oceana County Sheriff's office, a ghost tow is where the suspect places a fake call to AAA for a tow, then AAA gets the request and sends it to the local AAA facility, where Rosse's company would collect the call and not send out the truck.
The sheriff's office was notified by AAA and Rosse's AAA contract was cancelled.
