Man wanted on outstanding warrants arrested after police chase photo

LEELANAU COUNTY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU)-- A man wanted on outstanding warrants was arrested after he led deputies on a chase.

It happened Sunday around 2:06 a.m. on M-72 near Cedar Run Road.

According to the Leelanau County Sheriff's Office, a deputy attempted to stop a 2005 Ford F250 pickup for speeding. The pickup failed to stop and instead accelerated away before abruptly pulling into a driveway. Once the pickup stopped, six people fled on foot.

Deputies say an extensive search found all of the people except the driver. During the investigation, deputies found alcohol, prescription medicine and LSD inside the vehicle.

Deputies say a 30-year-old man and 20-year-old woman from Grand Rapids were showing signs of distress from taking LSD. Both were transported to the hospital for treatment.

A 31-year-old man from Grand Rapids was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of analogue drugs and possession of LSD. He was placed behind bars in the Leelanau County Jail.

Deputies say the driver of the pickup truck, a 36-year-old man from Grand Rapids, was found by the Grand Traverse Sheriff's Office walking on foot. He was arrested on outstanding warrants. He was later transferred to the Leelanau County Jail on fleeing and eluding charges.
