Services were held for one of the most successful quarterbacks in college football history.
Former teammates and coaches joined the family and friends of Cullen Finnerty at a Mass at St. Mary Magdalen Parish in Brighton. Interment followed at a Detroit area cemetery.
Finnerty, a three time Division II national champion with the Grand Valley State Lakers, was found dead in the woods in Lake County after he disappeared while fishing.
Officials say an autopsy showed no signs of foul play. They are still awaiting toxicology results.
A trust fund has been set up in his name. Finnerty had two small children.
