McManus will spend 16 years behind bars in brutal attack of Grawn man
The man who attacked a 65-year-old in his home was sentenced to serve at least 16 years behind bars.
After pleading guilty to charges of assault and home invasion, Steven McManus was sentenced in a Grand Traverse County courtroom Friday morning.
McManus attacked Roy Loveland at his home in March, breaking all of the bones in Loveland's face which required reconstructive surgery.
Loveland and his family who were present at the sentencing say they are pleased with the sentence.
"It's nice knowing he's not on the streets because if he can do that to someone like that, you've got to go," said Laroy Loveland, Roy's son.
Officers are still investigating the case to see if any additional charges will be filed.
