Mecosta County Medical Center to join forces with Spectrum Health

Mecosta Medical Center will become a Spectrum Health hospital this summer.

Officials with the Spectrum, MMC, and Mecosta County approved the resolutions with a targeted integration date of the first of July.

"Spectrum Health has had a strong relationship with Mecosta County Medical Center for many years," said Richard C. Breon, President and CEO of Spectrum Health. "This agreement allows MCMC to provide it's patients with a broader, more coordinated array of services."

Patients shouldn't expect to notice any difference in the level of care they receive, but more options in care will be available.

"Our patients will benefit from expanded clinical services and access to additional expertise that is unmatched in our region," said Sam Daughtery, CEO of Mecosta Medical Center.
