A Metro Detroit woman is in critical condition after a snowmobile accident in Wexford County Saturday night.
According to the Wexford County Sheriff's Office, 30-year-old Amber Hamrick, from Livonia, Mich., was in a group traveling westbound on East 40 Road near South 25 Road shortly before 11 p.m. when she collided with a second snowmobile in her group. Deputies say that the collision was slight, but it caused Hamrick to lose control of her snowmobile, which then struck the snow bank on the edge of the road and rolled over several times. Hamrick was thrown from the snowmobile.
She was transported to Munson Medical Center in Traverse City by North Flight Air.
Deputies say that Hamrick was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
The accident remains under investigation.
