Michigan weir-harvested headed to markets
TRAVERSE CITY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- Salmon harvested at Michigan's state-operated weir will soon be on the market.
Salmon are collected at Michigan Department of Natural Resources-maintained weirs as they head back to their native streams each fall.
Fish that are in good physical condition are put up for sale through the company American-Canadian Fisheries.
Individual retailers determine the price for the fish. Eight outlets will be selling the salmon this year.
