Minor damage reported in low-speed crash involving school bus
There was minor damage and no injuries reported in a low-speed crash involving a Morley Stanwood School bus.
According to the Mecosta County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened on Tuesday around 4:30 p.m.
The school bus was headed south on 160th Avenue and was stopping at the corner where the road turns east into Buchanan Road to drop off students.
The bus driver had not activated the flashing lights and was partially across the center line and in the oncoming lane, the Sheriff's Office reports.
At the same time, a car heading west on Buchanan Road approached the turn to go north on 160th when the bus was in the corner. The Sheriff said the driver was unable to avoid the bus because it was partially in his lane. The car hit the bus at a low speed causing minor damages.
There were approximately 11 students on the bus at the time of the crash, the Sheriff's Office reports, but no one was injured in either vehicle.
