A fire involving a truck, trailer and more than 100 bales of hay kept firefighters on Sugar Island busy for five hours Tuesday.
Crews were called to 1 1/2 Mile Road near Brasser around 3 p.m.
Investigators believe a spark from the truck's exhaust system started the fire.
Firefighters were on scene for hours trying to cut apart each bale of hay and soak it with water. The truck and trailer were destroyed.
The driver of the truck received burns to his hands after attempting to put the fire out on his own. He may also have a broken wrist after trying to get the bales of hay off the truck when the fire ignited.
