MSP: Driver cited after three-vehicle crash, two sent to hospital
ALPENA COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- Three people were injured after a chain reaction crash.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police Alpena Post were called to a three-vehicle crash on US-23 South and Squaw Bay around 3 p.m. Monday.
According to investigators a Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 78-year-old Alpena man, and a Chevrolet Equinox, driven by a 64-year-old Alpena woman, were stopped waiting for a vehicle to turn when a Chevrolet Uplander rear ended the Equinox.
The Equinox was then pushed into the Silverado, investigators said.
The drivers of the Uplander and the Equinox were taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
A passenger of the Silverado was treated at the scene for a minor injury.
The driver of the Uplander, a 74-year-old Spruce man, was cited for failing to stop within the assured clear distance.
